This is an historic church in St. Louis Missouri. There is a cemetary on the grounds that goes back to the 1700's or 1800's and was a place where slaves were buried before the emancipation proclamation. It is a very peaceful and beautiful setting. If you get to St. Louis and want to visit, its on Geyer Road.

Shelby

PORTRAIT OF SHELBY ( 2005)

Shelby is a very loving and affectionate cat. We've had her for 15 or 16 years. She has a history of being aloof with strangers, but has gotten much better about this with age. I guess cats can grow and change just like people!!!

This is my sister Liessa with her son David at her birthday party last summer. This was a big birthday!!!! Her 20th. Her son David is 22. I wonder how that happenned : ) Liessa lives in California and is a teacher. She loves to work out and has stayed in great shape. David has some trouble staying on task, but he did so long enough to take this picture. David is a Marine and is busy getting his undergraduate degree in San Diego.

This is my brother Paul. He is a first mate on a barge on the Mississippi. He has been doing this for many years. Paul works for ADM, the same people who bring us those very healthy soy products that can be found in the grocery store. Paul just called and left the following message:

"I'm in Evansville heading south. We'll be going to the Gulf. A little bit of rain, a little bit of snow. Everything seems to be going OK. I'll try to call you later."

He is very good at what he does, and has managed to stay in great shape!!!

Living Room Furniture

I'm so excited. We finally had our new living room furniture delivered yesterday. I think we ordered it sometime in July or August, which means we waited about 6 months. It was definitely worth it. I loved the color and they didn't have it in stock, so we had to special order it from Italy and it came by boat!!!! I can tell that the cats love it too. I can tell when Shelby has been on the furniture because I can see her footprints. Keeping them off the new furniture is a real challenge. I have posted a few pictures of the furniture below. Let me know what you think. Please leave some comments. We will be changing the coffee table and adding a lamp to go behind the unit in the corner. Have a great weekend.
