FCAT

I guess everybody knows by now that this is FCAT week. In case you are not an insider within Florida's educational system, I'm here to let you know that everything stops during FCAT week. Episodes of mass hysteria emerge on a daily basis starting about two weeks before testing begins. It seems like everything rests on this test. That's why they call it high stakes testing. Preparation for FCAT begins on Day One of the school year. Unfortunately, the FCAT is all that is taught until mid March, when it is all over. Then teachers and students don't know what do with themselves. It really doesn't make for a very well rounded education. But hey, someday we'll have a generation of adults that know how to take a high stakes test. What more could you want?!!!
Time to go home after a long day of FCAT testing. Look at that long line of cars waiting to pick up their kids. There are obviously a lot of car riders that go to this school. Get a good nights sleep and eat a good breakfast because there is more testing tomorrow!!

Shelby folded the laundry for me yesterday. I was so grateful for the help. She was so exhausted after she was done, she decided to rest on top of the towels for awhile until she recuperated!!
